Welcome to our program medical weight loss program.
The purpose of our program is to teach you and help you become more physically fit and healthy through proper daily eating habits and exercise. Luckily for us eating properly and exercising properly will not only make us healthier but it will also cause us to lose our excess body weight.
Some people will lose weight very quickly - while others might experience weight loss at a slower pace. In our medical weight loss program we have found that those who have a harder time losing weight have a fat burning system that is over-stressed and not totally healthy. For those of you that have a more difficult time at losing weight we do offer a much more specifically detailed program that begins with you completing a metabolic profile questionnaire that goes into much more detail than the one you have completed today. From this questionnaire we will work with you in developing a program that will restore health to your overstressed fat burning system. With this specific program it may take 4 to 6 weeks to get your fat burning system healthy so that you will finally be able to start losing weight.
The whole purpose of our program is to have you adopt these life style changes for the rest of your life.
With all of that being said here are a few basic guidelines that our medical weight loss doctors would like you to follow.
You must start eating within the first 60 minutes of waking up. If you do not your body goes into starvation mode and most of everything you eat for the remainder of the day will be stored as fat.
After breakfast, try to eat every 3.5 to 4 hours. Even a piece of fruit with a cup of sugar free yogurt makes a great breakfast. You will eat approximately - 3 main meals and two snacks of vegetables or fruit.
After 7:00 PM the stomach’s digestive abilities are very, very low. Meaning that in a perfect world you would not eat past 7:00 PM. So we are going to ask you to stop eating at 7:00 PM but if you must eat past 7:00 PM please try to stop eating 2 hours before you go to sleep.
Please be mindful of hidden calories: cream in your coffee, snack packs, the sugar that is in store bought fruit juices.
If you do experience cravings or hunger have a nice juicy apple. In fact you may eat as many apples as you want – whenever you want.
Keep a food and exercise journal and bring them with you in all subsequent visits so we may review them with you.
